Vertical Form- and Filling Systems (VFFS) allow a wide range of combinations with the different modules available. - The exact requirements regarding speed, bag size and form always can be fulfilled. - With all Vertical Packaging Machines the film is formed directly to the type of bag and size required. - Immediately after having formed the bag, it is filled with the exactly dosed or weighed product.
Horizontal Packaging Systems (HFFS) are working in a very similar way as the vertical systems. The main difference is, that after having formed the bag or a special bag (for example with a cap or so) has been supplied to the machine, the filling and closing of the bag is done in a horizontal way instead vertically.
Cellophane wrapping is the method of film packaging that delivers a very high quality. With this, transparent or printed plastic film of the exact length is wrapped around the product, folded and welded. The optimal attachment of a tear-open strip later helps the consumer to open the package simply and quickly. Cellophane wrapping is suitable for every conceivable product which has a relatively solid composition.
Shrink film packaging is distinguished by its ability to package irregularly-shaped, soft and large products. The film is loosely wound around the product and then shrunk to a close fit around the product. - A further advantage is the possibility of packaging products of different shapes and sizes simply, in rotation one after another immediately, without having to re-set the machine for specific products.
The most simple solution for full plastic film wrapping is a combination machine, in which the welding mechanism for all-round sealing is directly combined with the heat chamber. - The advantages with this are simple operation, maintenance-free, problem-free product changing, and it is suitable for small and very small items.
For the processing of greater volumes there are the larger L-sealer or side sealing machines with a separate or fixed shrink tunnel. - With these there is a choice of numerous semi- and fully-automatic solutions.
Sleeve Wrapping functions almost identically to shrink film packaging, but serves better as a cost effective transportation safeguard for product bundles or bunches, and leaves the sides of the packaging open. With this process two plastic films are used - one from above, one from below welded together.
With
Flow Wrapping the welding is carried out at high speed. The transverse welding takes place over a turning or a pendulum knife which moves in synchronization with the continuous flow of products. - The longitudinal welding is carried out by a rolling heat wheel.
FILLINGmachines are AMTEC packaging machines' latest product division.
Using these devices, not only can bottles, jars and tins be filled, but also plastic bags or paper sacks can be welded or sewn. The filling capacity runs from a few millilitres up to 100 litres for sacks and bags in extra-large sizes.
There is the choice between semi and fully automatic filling machines which in their turn can also be combined with feed and removal conveyors, automatic container feeders, also available with individual feed control, and various closure devices.
